James Mann, 20, who is President of the swimming team, said: “I’m so proud of the team. Our success can’t really be judged on winning as there are Olympians racing there as well, so to get 27 PBs was amazing.

“We’ve now got a great base to move forward from for Varsity and I’m excited to see how it goes.”

Millie Robinson, 20, won in her 50m free style heat. She said: “It was my first BUCS and it will be my last as well, so it was really nice to come away with this a good result.

“There were personal best across the board, so as a team we did really well.”

Olympian, Aimee Willmott also competed in Sheffield at the weekend.

The swim team will compete against the University of Kent at Varsity in the spring 2017.
