It was the first BUC'S completion for the equestrian B team.

Equestrian team’s first competitions of the year

Christ Church’s equestrian team had competitions for both the 1sts and 2nds on November 30. UNIfied caught up with the captains for an overview of each competition. On November 30, CCCU Equestrian 1s went to Brighton for our first competition of the year. All four riders produced lovely dressage tests giving us very little penalties. This meant that we were in a good position half way through the day. In the jumping rounds we had an unfortunate fall from one of our riders which meant we came 3rd as a team at the end of the day. However, we had an individual 5th (Megan Gowland) and 7th (Layla Maidment) from our team. We have gained points within the league and are confident we can improve this in our next competition and hope that either our team or individuals will qualify for the regionals.

On November 30, CCCU Equestrian 2s had their first competition against UKC, Royal Holloway and Portsmouth. During the morning there was some lovely dressage tests produced with just a couple of silly mistakes and one horse misbehaving. Despite having a couple of poles down in the afternoon, the team finished 3rd with individual placings of 8th and 3rd (by our fresher Sally who ended the day on 0 penalties).

The day was a success for our first competition of the year and we look forward to the next one on the December 14 for the 2nds at Trenley and the 1st February for the 1sts. Stay tuned for further updates of both of the Equestrian team’s progress and successes with UNIfied or follow the team on social media on: Facebook Twitter  The team train on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Trenley Park Liveries.
