Moving into university accommodation can be nerve racking and you’re probably dying to know what it’s going to be like. No worries, Unified have got your queries covered. Here’s everything you need to know about living in Pin Hill accommodation.
Overview of Pin Hill
Pin Hill is one of many accommodation options for first year students at Canterbury Christ Church. It is made up of five houses of flats. The flats in Runcie House, Coggan House, Ramsey House and Carey House range from two bedrooms to three bedrooms with shared bathrooms. Whereas Benson house offers flats for up to six, some with en suite bathrooms. There is an on site launderette and 24 hour security monitoring, plus car parking facilities on site. It is conveniently located just outside of the town centre and is a short walk from main campus and the library.
Pin Hill is right next door to Club Chemistry and it is about a 20 second walk from your flat to Chem’s entrance. This means saving loads on taxi fares and a very short journey home after a night out. It’s also just a short walk into the city centre where you’ll find more bars, pubs and clubs.
There is an Aldi located around a five minute walk across the road from Pin Hill, as well as a Tesco Metro in the city. A large 24 hour ASDA can be found on the other side of town; this isn’t great to access on foot from Pin Hill but is a quick and easy drive.
The town centre offers a wide range of shopping options, including both designer and high street brands. Whitefriars shopping centre is home to an array of places to splash your student loan, including Topshop, Zara, River Island, H&M, Boots, Fenwicks department store and more.
On the high street you’ll find even more of your favourite retail stores plus dozens of amazing places to eat and drink.
Pin Hill is one of the few accommodation options to offer resident parking. There is a large car park underneath the Pin Hill buildings and you can apply to purchase a permit. Find out more about accommodation parking here.
Pin Hill is located directly opposite Canterbury East railway station where trains run regularly to London and parts of the South East. Canterbury West railway station is on the other side of the city and is a 20 minute walk away.
Canterbury Bus Station can be found next to Whitefriars shopping centre. Regular busses run from here as well as National Express coaches.
