After The Thomas Ingoldsby Wetherspoons closed its doors, Canterbury students and locals were left with one less affordable drinking joint.
The popular pub commonly favoured for its penny saving pints and low-cost grub has been shut for nearly 5 months to undergo a renovation.
Images depicting what customers can expect the transformed venue to look like when it re-opens have been displayed on boards outside of the under-construction pub.
The images show a completely refreshed and modernised take on the classic pub-y theme as well as classy, plush looking en suite bedrooms.
The £1.5 mil refurb will see the somewhat run down boozer revamped, boasting two bars set across two floors as well as 13 hotel rooms. So, you essentially never have to leave.
The Thomas Ingoldsby has been missed by its regulars since the building work has been going on. We hope the pricey transformation will be worth missing out on valuable ‘Spoons time’.
