BUCS Weekly sports round up: Varsity on the doorstep
This week is Varsity week, but there were still BUCS fixtures to play and scores to settle.

Tough test against LSE for Women’s rugby
Women’s rugby smashed LSE 38-5.
Aegean Leech said:

Basketball girls on fire.
Women’s basketball won 65-44 against City.
Eftychia Panayiotou ” We came out strong from the get go and kept the pressure up the whole game.
“We’re ready to smash UKC on Saturday.”

Hockey Women show GKT who’s boss
Women’s Hockey first team thrashed GKT 4-1
Laura Buttimer said: “Good to get 3 points from a team we struggled to draw against at the beginning of the season.
“Some excellent leadership and commitment shown by the girls today.”
Away win for second team
The Men’s football second team won 1-0 away to queen Mary’s first team.
Captain Lee Bird said: “Great performance from all the boys.
Just what we needed going into Varsity and our quarter finals game on Wednesday.
“We go again.”

Debut competition for two equestrian members
The equestrian B team came fourth against multiple universities.
Camilla Wallis put her nerves a side and competed in her first ever competition doing the team proud with some solid scores.
Katie Pinn also made her debut at her first away competition for BUCs and came very close to getting placed.
Overall the B team put a valiant effort in

The Men’s Football fourth team beat Essex 2-0.
The Women’s football second team game was yet again cancelled.
Netball second team won 44-38.
Netball third team lost 28-12 to Queen Mary’s
