Varsity 2018 Day 7 round-up
Sonny Snelling & Zeeshan Shivji
The last day of Varsity took a phenomenal turn as C4 dominated the last two games.
Cricket
The women’s team and both men’s team took to St Lawrence knowing that Kent were tough opponents who would not be taken down that easily.
UKC in the Womens game set a score of 99 runs but unfortunately C4 could only make 73. There were some good bowling on display by the girls, but Kent could not be stopped.

In the Men’s 2s C4 set a score of 53-5 as Kent played well in the field to stop the team making runs.
UKC chased down the score and fished on 59 ending with a six to win the 2’s game.

In the Men’s 1’s UKC set a score of 84 runs to 5 making it extremely harder for C4 to make a return.
Despite the great attempts, CCCU failed to get a higher score as they finished with 65 runs to 4.

Rugby
What a way to end Varsity week with two smashing results for both the rugby first teams.
Canterbury Rugby Club was the venue and the weather was torrential with strong winds and relentless rain.
The Women were the first to the field and smashed Kent 31-7 scoring an early try to set them on their way.
They never looked back as they sailed to the penultimate Varsity victory.

For the Men it was a tougher and tighter test.
They won by the narrow result of 14-13, but kept Kent at arms length.
The fans kept the team going as they secured their amazing triumph and ended Varsity 2018 on a high.
