Varsity 2018 round up: Day 6 – Equestrian, Rugby, Snow-sports & Trampolining

Day six of Varsity was full of excitement and wins for C4.

C4 galloped to victory in equestrian Varsity with an amazing win over UKC.

The team outshone their opponents in all categories and gave them no chance.

Men’s Rugby

It was an extremely tough day at the office for C4 men’s rugby 3s and 2s.

The weather conditions were horrific, with a strong wind, freezing temperatures and heavy rain.

In the 3s game it was hard for both teams to get going as they struggled to keep hold of the ball in the shocking conditions.

UKC eventually got their rhythm first and after an impressive passing phase, their winger was able to finish well past the CCCU defence.

Conditions got worse and so did the game for CCCU as Kent continued to dominate the first half adding an extra three tries before the half-time whistle.

The second half was a similar affair with Kent controlling the match and racking up a lead of 46-0.

Christ Church wouldn’t go home empty-handed though and after a huge spell of pressure, they tumbled over the line in the last play of the game. They were unable to convert their conversion kick, meaning the match finished 46-5 to UKC.

In similar conditions, the men’s 2s had a hard-fought match against UKC. It was close throughout, but the Kent sides resilient defence saw them turn out 20-0 winners.

UKC won this year’s Snowsports Varsity at Brentwood with C4 not getting the rub of the green.

Individually there were some great performances, but C4 could not get past their opponents and win a point.

C4 were flipping amazing on Pancake day and left Kent in the dust throughout. The team also took all the individual accolades and deserved their impressive win.
