Canterbury Freshers’ Week 2018 is just around the corner. Whether it’s your first year at university or the last, you’ll regret not taking part in the freshers’ celebrations – even just for one night. 

Canterbury is FILLED with student-focused nightlife so there’s always something going on. But we’ve gathered the biggest and the best events happening during Freshers’ Week 2018. Take your pick… (or all)

Hello Christ Church Welcome Party

Event description: Kick off Freshers’ Week with a bang at our Hello Christ Church Welcome Party! Grab a FREE Hello Christ Church T-shirt and get ready to meet awesome new friends in this party with a social media twist.

Make sure your phone is on full charge and get ready to make new friends, take fab selfies and win some amazing prizes in a night you’ll remember forever!

ZieZie Live @ The Cuban Canterbury

Event description: One of the biggest nights at Freshers with a very special guest. ‘Fine Girl’ artist ZieZie will be performing live at The Cuban Canterbury.

A media production team will be taking photos and videos so ‘dress to impress!’.

Canterbury Freshers Bar Crawl: ‘Town Takeover’

Event description: Canterbury’s biggest Freshers Week pub tour that’s been sold out since three years running. You’ll get a t-shirt in exchange for your ticket which will then give you access to 10 venues where you’ll get a free drink in one.

After crawling around the streets of Canterbury, the last destination will be a huge after party at Club Chemistry – free entry, of course.

Beach Party with Wes from Love Island

Event description: We kick off Freshers Week 2018 with our huge Freshers Beach Party hosted by Love Island’s Wes Nelson!

There will be a meet & greet, free flower necklaces, beach balls, inflatables, glow sticks and even £1.50 drinks.

Love Island’s Dani Dyer in Canterbury

Event description: Everyone’s favourite girl, Dani Dyer has been crowned the Love Island queen of 2018! And what a deserving winner she is! We think it’s our turn to make her a cheese and ham toastie (and not just because we’re a little bit scared of Danny Sr.)

Tunesday School Disco with Scouting for Girls

Event description: Tunesday launches into the new academic year with a little help from our friends – SCOUTING FOR GIRLS

Roy Stride will be spinning Indie Anthems and Guilty Pleasures at our first Tunesday School Disco.

School Uniform is Mandatory whether you’re a Posh Girl or a Boy from a Local Comprehensive.

Reggaeton VS Rnb

Event description: ‘A fiesta that’s going to be LOCO’. DJs will be spinning the best Reggaeton and RnB tunes from around the globe. Come and mix with people from all over the planet and experience a truly unique vibe.

Represent your country by wearing flags or traditional costumes.

Freshers Closing Party – 6am close!

Event description: The finale to Freshers 2018! After an incredible couple of weeks, we draw the curtain on Freshers 2018 with the official Closing Party at Club Chemistry! But don’t worry, we’re only just getting started…

The BIG Quiz: Freshers’ Week

Event description: The very first BIG Quiz of the term is BACK during Freshers’ Week! So brush up on your quiz knowledge and join your fellow Freshers for a fun Sunday evening in the Lounge. This first quiz will be hosted by your SABBs, so come along and have a laugh with the students who will be representing you.

We will also be looking for a new quiz host so get your thinking caps on if you think you’ve got what it takes to be the next host.

Colourfest Freshers’ Paint Party

Event description: After having sold out in previous years, the biggest, messiest and most talked about freshers event FINALLY returns to Canterbury for 2018. Here is the BIG Freshers’ Paint Party.

Expect the most colossal night of Freshers’ 2018 with paint blasters, gallons of paint, paint pistols, live performers, thousands of glowsticks, DJs and even face painters.
