6 girl bosses on Instagram you need to follow #UnifiedFem

In a world of Kim K’s promotion of skinny lollipops, luckily there are other women of Instagram that are real life girl bosses. If you’re in need of some career inspo or even just a little motivation to push yourself in your daily jobs, then here’s 6 of Instagram’s ultimate girl bosses that you definitely need to follow.

@thefoodiemedic

Why wouldn’t you follow her? She runs her own brand ‘The Food Medic’, is a doctor and is currently studying for a Masters degree. She is the source of my inspiration to get motivated in the day and always shares great tips on food and health.

“There’s an antibiotic for that” – Have you ever taken, or been advised to take, an antibiotic for something “just incase”? Or maybe save some you had left over or picked some up abroad? 💊Apparently, lots of us have or do, and 1 in 5 of people expect antibiotics when they visit their doctor 👩🏽‍⚕️ To add to that as many as 1-2 in 10 antibiotic prescriptions issued may be inappropriate – most of which are for sore throats, coughs, colds and ear infections. You see they do not work against infections that are caused by viruses – for example, the common cold or flu 🤧 And even with mild bacterial infections, such as sore throats or ear infections, the immune system can usually clear it on its own and antibiotics do very little to speed up recovery. Of course there are instances where antibiotics are essential, and often life saving, for example in the cases of sepsis, meningitis, or pneumonia. – But whats the issue in taking some “just incase”? Well, taking them when we don’t need them means a) they’re unlikely to speed up recovery, b) we’re exposing ourselves to unpleasant side effects c) we’re wasting our money d) we’re increasing the spread of antibiotic resistance. – Today, Public Health England launch their national campaign ‘Keep Antibiotics Working’ to help reduce the number of inappropriate prescriptions for antibiotics by raising awareness of the issue of antibiotic resistance 🗯The more we use antibiotics, the more opportunities there are for bacteria to develop resistance 📈That means that if the time comes when you really need them, the antibiotics may not actually work. As a result, it is estimated that at least 5,000 deaths are caused every year in England because antibiotics no longer work for some infections and this figure is set to rise with experts predicting that in just over 30 years antibiotic resistance will kill more people than cancer and diabetes combined. – To read more about antibiotics, antibiotic resistance, and how you can do your part to prevent the spread of resistance, head over to www.thefoodmedic.co.uk for our latest article 💻 Keen to hear your thoughts and experiences? 👇🏼 #thefoodmedic #PHE #Antibioticresistance

@livias_kitchen

She created a brand of vegan and gluten-free treats. It’s not just her food that’s amazing, she shows what is possible and what it takes to run a successful company. She is someone I aspire to be like and gives me hope for the future once I graduate.

@hannahfgale

Hannah is an amazing blogger who has the most best and most enviable fashion sense. She is also hilarious and cheers me up throughout the day.

@feathering_the_empty_nest

Elle is a champion for campaigning and raising money for baby charities, specifically neonatal units. She herself lost her newborn son Teddy. I understand that we are not all affected by this situation, but her drive and commitment is awe-inspiring.

❤️ We are FMLY🙌🏼 My last talk about #AskMeHisName for a while, and I’m so happy to have been able to end it with the wonderful people of @thefmlystore and this little one by my side. • For those of you who haven’t read the book (I’ll let you off), it’s not just written by me, there are sections from my Mum, my husband and other family members and friends. When someone loses a child the ripples go out so much further than just the parents who’ve lost their baby, and I really hope that section of the book helps to support grandparents, aunties and uncles, friends, and so many more. • I felt incredibly lucky today to be able to sit there and talk about Teddy with my wonderful Mum by my side….Teddy’s Grandma✨ I couldn’t have got through these past two years without her👭 Thank you Bruton, you were FAB! Over and out✌🏼 #wearefmly #thatsallfolks #teddyslegacy #whenloveistheway
