Make sure if you’re part of a sport team to tag us on Twitter (@unified_news) with all your pictures, quotes, results and notable events to be mentioned in next week’s round up.

If you missed last week’s round up: here you go.

A good luck from our sports president, Chloe Woolaway.

The men’s 1s got off to a strong start at the weekend winning all three of their games!

Firstly they beat London School of Economics by five wickets, and then went on the beat Goldsmiths by a mammoth 100 runs. They followed that up with a five wicket win over Westminster.

A mixed bag for our football teams with only the 2s getting a positive result, thrashing Brunel 9-0!

The men’s 1s went down 3-0 to Queen Mary, 2s lost 2-0 at home to Brighton and the 4s lost 4-2.

Unfortunately, it was similar results for our Futsal team who were defeated 8-5 to South Eastern.

The women’s hockey team also lost 3-0 to Brighton but remain well placed in the league table.

Men’s Lacrosse have got off to a strong start this season and continued this by beating title rivals Reading 4-1.

The team said: “After last weeks victory taking Mens Lacrosse to 2/2 this week they travelled to Reading, hoping to remain unbeaten. The game started as a cagey affair with both defences staying solid causing a lack of opportunities to be created. However, after forcing the first breakthrough, C4 finished the 1st Quarter 2-1 up. The game continued to be a tight affair throughout as both sides made the game a physical battle in every sense.

Both sides now started to test each other’s keepers on a regular basis but to no prevail, as the game drew to a close Christchurch finally managed to pull away, after an exceptional solo goal from C4 stalwart Giorgio Micheal, they managed to dictate the remaining minutes by controlling possession and standing firm in defence. Another fantastic and mature performance from a developing Christchurch outfit. Captain’s player of the match was Josh Branchett, tremendously disciplined performance from the midfielder, strong in defence and dangerous in attack, well deserved man of the match.

Next week they travel to imperial looking to remain undefeated and go 4/4.”

It wasn’t quite the same though for our Netball girls, with both teams being defeated.

Disappointing results for the rugby teams, both going down to heavy defeats. Our men’s 3s lost 38-0 and womens 29-3.

Our volleyball teams unfortunately narrowly fell short in their games, with the women’s team losing 3-1 and the men’s 3-2.

Our snowsports teams went to Kings to compete for the first time this weekend. Kent didn’t show up so we’ll take it as a win.

Team of the Week

Men’s Cricket is our Team of the Week after coming out undefeated in all of their games.

Sports Person of the Week

Our Sports Person of the Week goes to Meg Holroyd from Snowsports for competing for the first time through poles this weekend.
