BUCS Weekly Round-Up: C4 continue to win in the lead up to Christmas!

It’s the last week before Christmas, but the cold and dreary weather hasn’t stopped our sports teams competing!

Men’s Cricket

Men’s cricket had three games this weekend, and they won all of them!

The first team won both of their games. The first game against Gravesend 5s by one wickets and then went on to beat Gravesend 6s by six wickets.

The second team also beat Gravesend 6s by six wickets.

Club captain Tom Evans said: “Player of the week was Stuart Dockerill for one of the greatest individual performances seen indoors, bowling 3 overs conceding 3 runs and taking 2 wickets.

“Then needing 35 to win as last man standing he scored 37 not out to win the game for the 1’s this was the cricket performance of the year.”

Equestrian A team

The A team had their first competition this week, and they did Christ Church proud!

Captain Bekka Barrow said: “On Wednesday Equestrian A team absolutely smashed their first competition of the year winning team 1st with a lead of more than 80 points.

“Leyla Marie Under came 1st individually, Hayley Pughe came 2nd, Bekka Barrow rd and Chloe Linsdell 5th.

The A team have made a strong start to their season

“This is the first time in just under two years that we have won a competition and being the first competition of the year we’re hoping to keep up the hard work to keep winning and qualify for regionals.”

Women’s Lacrosse

The girls won by default on Wednesday and have now made it through to the quarter finals of the cup!

Very well done LaX.

American Football

American Football unfortunately lost to UEA away 37-0.
