So it’s the end of January and if you’re anything like me, you’re still feeling a bit lost and haven’t quite got it together. So, here’s a few tips on how to get back into the swing of things.
Post Christmas and university break blues are over, with most students going home or working over the festive period, being back to the uni lifestyle might make you feel like you don’t really know what to do with yourself.
You’re back at uni, with no lectures for a couple of weeks and no structure to your day which can get a little boring.
So here are my top tips to get back into the swing of things and start 2019 and second semester as you mean to go on!
It sounds so simple and it is the first thing you do everyday but wake up at a similar time each day.
It doesn’t have to be silly o’clock, appreciate the lay ins before your 9ams start for sure! But even setting your alarm for 9am or 10am each day means you have a purpose to your day and can get into a regular sleeping pattern.
It also makes the most of your day as you can get up and start to do things rather than waking up in the afternoon with another day wasted.
GET ORGANISED! Its 2019, a new year a new you? Not necessarily.
However a perfect start is to write down key dates for the next few months, lists of things to do or achieve and your plans for the year ahead.
Have a rearrange.
This may sound odd but even changing around your room, your study space or relaxed space with your flat/ housemates! This can give you a new vibe and new energy in your surroundings.
See your friends, go out and socialise and make January fun and a lot less depressing than it can be, especially with rubbish weather you certainly don’t want to be sat in bored and feeling sorry for yourself… who finds that fun?
Appreciate the now
And finally something we actually forget to do, appreciate the fact that you’re a little bored and have nothing to do because soon enough you really will be bombarded with essays and a crazy schedule when lectures start so appreciate that you have another week of freedom.
Make sure you have some YOU time, watch a series on Netflix, go for a workout on your own, do some retail therapy and properly take the time to relax and be ready to start a successful 2019 academic year!
