6 places to celebrate this Bonfire night in Kent

Remember, remember the fifth of November; bonfire night is coming up and it’s time to celebrate! It’s been over 400 years since Guy Fawkes’ gunpowder plot, but the fireworks and bonfires still burn on. Here are all the best places you can celebrate Guy Fawkes night around Kent this week.

Leeds Castle Fireworks Spectacular

Watch Leeds castle come alive at the biggest firework display in the South East. 25,000 fireworks will fill the sky over the stunning castle which comes near to the end of it’s 900th anniversary year. The event is supported by KMFM and Rob Wills will be getting the party started with a DJ set on both nights. This year’s ‘around the world’ theme will have everyone dancing the night away. There will be plenty of entertainment with live music and fairground rides for children.

Where:Leeds Castle, Maidstone Kent

When:Saturday 2nd November and Sunday 3rd November. From 2pm there will be live music, falconry display at 3pm, maze and play areas all before the fireworks begin at 5.30pm. The live music will carry on after the display until 6.30pm.

Quex Park Bonfire & Fireworks

If you love the 80’s, then this event will be right up your street. Get cosy by the fire and watch the sky sparkle at this 1980’s themed bonfire night. It’s the biggest bonfire night event in Thanet so it’s a must if you’re local to the area. Bon Jovi tribute act Bon Giovi will be performing as a special guest so get your singing voice ready.

Where: Quex Park, Birchington Kent

When: Saturday 2ndNovember, music will begin at 4pm and the first firework display will start at 6pm. The bonfire will light at 6.15pm and Bon Giovi will start at 6.30pm. The event will finish at 9pm.

Prices: Adults cost £13.50, under 15’s cost £11.50, under 5’s are free but still need a ticket. Family ticket for 2 adults and 2 children costs £45. Prices will be more expensive on the night.

Ashford Rugby Football Club Fireworks

A huge fundraising event for Ashford Rugby Football Club. There will be a mega bonfire and fireworks starting shortly after, with foodstalls and outdoor bars.

Where: Ashford Rugby Football Club, Canterbury Road

When: Saturday 2ndNovember, gates open at 5pm. The bonfire will light at 7pm and the fireworks will start at 7.30pm.

Prices: Adults £6 online, £8 on the night. Chrildren £3 online, £4 on the night. Family ticket (2 adults, 2 children) £15 online, £20 on the night. Children under 5 are free.

Kent Cricket Fireworks night in Canterbury

With last year’s event having over 4500 people attend, Canterbury’s spectacular firework night had to return. This fun filled family event is the only firework display in Canterbury that is guaranteed to be held on Bonfire Night. There will be a beautiful 20-minute firework display, fairground attractions and live music from Old Town Souls. It will be hosted by KMFM’s Laura Crockett in the heart of Canterbury.

Where: The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence, Canterbury

When: Tuesday 5thNovember, gates open at 5pm, entertainment starts at 5.30pm, firework display will start around 7.15pm.

Prices: Adult pre buy £8, on the night £10. Children pre buy £4, on the night £8. Family ticket pre buy £20, on the night £25.

Fireworks Night and Hog Roast, Whitstable

A more intimate firework display in Whitstable, with a hog roast and mulled wine that is completely free! There will be marshmallows by the bonfire, anyone can come along.

Where: The East Kent, 72 Oxford Street, Whitstable

When: Tuesday 5thNovember, hog roast will start at 7pm and fireworks at 8pm.

Prices: FREE


Tunbridge Wells Fireworks

Home of the Dunorlan Park fireworks and the charity giveaway from the proceeds. The show has been going since 1957 and it attracted over 10,000 people last year so it will be a fun night to celebrate! Watch the fireworks reflect off the lake at the biggest annual event in Tunbridge.

Where: Dunorlan Park, Tunbridge Wells

When: Saturday 2ndNovember, gates open at 5.30pm and the firework display starts at 7pm.

Prices: Adults £6 (£8 on the night). Children £4 (£5 on the night)
