The festive season is approaching, the Christmas lights are being switched on in Canterbury tomorrow and the market is almost up and running. This only means one thing, it’s time to try your festive drinks for 2019!
Whether you’re a coffee addict or you’ve got more of a sweet tooth and always opt for a hot chocolate:, here are UNIfied’s top picks of the best Christmas drinks to find in Canterbury!
Costa’s Christmas menu includes the Irish Velvet and Cream Coffee Frostino, the classic Spiced Cappuccino and the Gingerbread and Cream Latte amongst others. If it’s more snack you are after, the Salted Caramel Yule Log is also sure to go down a treat.
Costa are also catering for vegan’s with their gluten free, Vegan Mince Tart and Iced Slice.
Their traditional Pigs Under Blankets stone baked panini is also back alongside other festive sandwiches such as the British Turkey Feast and the Turkey and Trimmings toastie. View the full festive menu here.
With there being 2 Costa’s in Canterbury, there is no excuse not to fully try and test this menu out!
Starbucks have really pulled it out the bag this Christmas. A Christmas Brûlée Latte, an Egg Nog Latte and Toffee Nut Latte’s accompany the traditional Gingerbread Latte which is also on the menu.
Salted Caramel flavoured hot chocolate’s and frappuccino’s can also be found in Starbucks this year.
The Very Merry Vegan wrap means Costa have some competition for all the vegan’s out there. The Brie and Cran-merry foccacia also took to our tastebuds! The witty names of their food and drink also makes you want to be in the Christmas spirit!
Just because you are on a student budget, does not mean that you can’t enjoy these festive treats! With McDonald’s launching their budget priced but premium range Christmas menu, this is one to get excited about.
With a Millionaire’s Latte (which I personally have already tried and tested several times) and a Toffee Latte on the menu you can still treat yourself here! The new Matchmakers Mcflurry is also on its way out this December also. You’re missing out if you don’t try that!
Another coffee shop with two stores in town is Caffe Nero. A Pigs in Blanket toastie and Red Velvet Bauble cake are up for grabs and yet again looking absolutely delicious.
Nero have taken the option to leave it up to the customers, offering a range of festive latte’s and hot chocolates from a range of milk and adding your choice of flavoured syrup.
If you want to remain healthy before you consume your body weight in Celebrations on Christmas Day, the Festive Mixed Grain salad is the cheapest thing on their festive menu at £1.90 for a side portion or £3.80 for a main.
There are so many other independent coffee shops in and around Canterbury city centre, so definitely go and check those out too.
