Strictly 2021: Week Two – One left the floor, one doubled their score?!

Week Two was the chance for the celebrities to prove themselves, as this week someone had to leave.

Tom and Amy were absent from the show this week, having tested positive for COVID-19 the week before.

The remaining 14 pairs each showed the judges what they’d learned from their critiques from Week One. Everyone gave it their best shot – no one wanted to be the first out!

So, how did everyone do this week?

How did the leaderboard look?

Week Two’s dances meant that Sara and Aljaž and Tilly and Nikita shared the top spot with 34 each, and Nina and Neil were at the bottom with 18.

When the scores were combined with last week, AJ and Kai came out on top with 65/80 and Nina and Neil were last with 42/80.

Who was in the Dance Off, and how did it go?

With the judges’ scores and public votes combined, the bottom two couples had to dance again.

This week it was Nina and Neil and Katie and Gorka. The judges said that both couples had improved from the first dance, and the vote to save one couple ended in a split decision.

Craig and Motsi voted for Katie and Gorka, while Anton voted for Nina and Neil. As Shirley is the head judge, it meant that whoever she saved would go through as she always has the casting vote. Shirley chose to save Katie and Gorka, meaning that Nina and Neil were eliminated.

Any news before Week Three?

There are rumours that Tom and Amy may still not be well enough to return – if they have to remain off of the show this week, they may be eliminated. Nothing’s been confirmed yet, so fingers crossed they’re able to rejoin the show!
