Strictly 2021: Week Seven – Personal bests and unexpected tests

We’re back for another week of fabulous routines! We’re really getting into the swing of things now – let’s see what happened, shall we?

So, how did everyone do this week?

Adam & Katya – Jive (Score: 27/40, -2 since last week)

Dancing to Frankie Lymon’s ‘Little Bitty Pretty One’, he and Katya scored 27 from the judges – a 6 from Craig, a 7 from Motsi, a 7 from Shirley, and a 7 from Anton. It was decent, but it was clear they weren’t going to stay near the top of the leaderboard for long.

His and Amy’s routine to to Jaime Teixidor’s ‘Amparito Roca’ earned a near-perfect 38 from the judges – a 9 from Craig, a *10* from Motsi, a *10* from Shirley and a 9 from Anton. His first 10s!

Living their best TikTok lives, his and Nadiya’s routine to MKTO’s ‘Classic’ scored 28 from the judges – a 6 from Craig, a 7 from Motsi, an 8 from Shirley and a 7 from Anton. Once again, Dan wasn’t spectacular on a technical basis, but his entertainment value is always off the scale.

Dancing to Sting’s ‘Shape of My Heart’, he and Johannes scored 35 – an 8 from Craig, an 8 from Motsi, a *10* from Shirley and a 9 from Anton. I might be a little biased in my own ranking of this because the Rumba is my favourite dance, and they smashed it! Their beautiful routine brought viewers to tears across the country.

AJ & Kai – Charleston (Score: 39/40, +2 since last week)

How did the leaderboard look?

AJ and Kai topped the leaderboard with a perfect 40, and Adam and Katya finished last with 23.

Who was in the Dance Off, and how did it go?

This week, Adam and Katya were up against Tilly and Nikita.

Craig, Motsi and Anton all voted to save Tilly and Nikita, which sent Adam and Katya home.

However Shirley said that, if she could have voted, she would have disagreed with the others by choosing Adam and Katya.

Any news before Week Eight?

No dramas this week, stay tuned for next week!
