Strictly 2021: Week Six – One couple was naughty, and another got a 40!

This is not a drill – Craig dusted off his 10 paddle for the first time this season, resulting in the earliest score of 40 that Strictly Come Dancing has ever had. A 40 in Week Six has literally never happened before! Keep reading for all the details from this week…

So, how did everyone do this week?

John & Johannes – Quickstep (Score: 33/40, -5 since last week)

In a powerful dance as werewolves to Creedence Clearwater Revival’s ‘Bad Moon Rising’, he and Johannes scored 33 – an 8 from Craig, an 8 from Motsi, a 9 from Shirley and an 8 from Anton.

Charlotte’s rating:

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

AJ & Kai – Viennese Waltz (Score: 37/40, +2 since last week)

Dancing a red-hot routine as Medusa to Ariana Grande’s ‘Dangerous Woman’, she and Kai scored 37 – a 9 from Craig, a 9 from Motsi, a 10 from Shirley and a 9 from Anton.

As the romance rumours between them continued to heat up, Kai kissed AJ’s hand when talking to Claudia, in order to please her nephew who wanted them to kiss – him and half the nation! No chance of a Strictly curse here – they’re both single, so everyone’s rooting for them to be more than dance partners.

Charlotte’s rating:

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Dan & Nadiya – Jive (Score: 27/40, -1 since last week)

In a crab-tastic Jive to The B-52’s ‘Rock Lobster’, he and Nadiya scored 27 – a 5 from Craig, an 8 from Motsi, a 7 from Shirley and a 7 from Anton. It DEFINITELY wasn’t perfect, but it was so much fun!

Charlotte’s rating:

Rating: 3 out of 5.

Sara & Aljaž – Couple’s Choice (Score: 23/40, -2 since last week)

Dancing to Whitney Houston’s ‘Queen of the Night’, Aljaž and the Queen of Dragons received 23 from the judges – a 4 from Craig, a 7 from Motsi, a 6 from Shirley and a 6 from Anton. With a much lower score than their recent standard, viewers were worried for them.

Charlotte’s rating:

Rating: 3 out of 5.

Rose & Giovanni – Tango (Score: 40/40, +3 since last week)

Dancing an INSANE routine to Ed Sheeran’s ‘Shivers’, she and Giovanni earned a perfect 40 from the judges – a *10* from Craig, a *10* from Motsi, a *10* from Shirley and a *10* from Anton!

It’s unheard of to reach perfection this early in the competition, and Rose absolutely smashed it. Giovanni was moved to tears by the well-deserved accolade they received, and those watching both in the studio and at home were with them 100%.

Charlotte’s rating:

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Tilly & Nikita – Cha-Cha-Cha (Score: 35/40, -1 since last week)

Charlotte’s rating:

Judi & Graziano – Cha-Cha-Cha (Score: 25/40, +1 since Week Four)

Doing the routine she would have done last week, she and Graziano scored 25 dancing to Olivia Newton-John’s ‘Physical’ – a 4 from Craig, a 7 from Motsi, a 7 from Shirley and a 7 from Anton.

Charlotte’s rating:

Rating: 3 out of 5.

Tom & Amy – Tango (Score: 29/40, -5 since last week)

Dancing to AC/DC’s ‘Highway to Hell’, he and Amy scored 29 from the judges – a 7 from Craig, an 8 from Motsi, a 7 from Shirley and a 7 from Anton. There were some significant mistakes, but still a decent routine nonetheless!

Charlotte’s rating:

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

How did the leaderboard look?

Rose and Giovanni topped the leaderboard with a perfect 40, and Sara and Aljaž finished last with 23.

Who was in the Dance Off, and how did it go?

This week, Judi and Graziano were up against Adam and Katya.
Once again, only three votes were needed as the first three judges agreed.

Craig, Motsi and Anton all chose to save Adam and Katya, which meant that Judi and Graziano were eliminated.

Shirley also said that if she could have voted, she would have done the same.

Any news before Week Seven?

No tea to spill this week! Stay tuned for next week.
