The men’s lacrosse team extended their lead at the top of the table with an emphatic 17-1 victory against Kent 2’s. The boys now have a 31+ goal difference on the team behind them and are dominating the season.
Player of the week was awarded to Alex Day. He put in a fantastic performance in goal and has impressed all season as a fresher.
Women’s Hockey 1’s
Despite injuries, CCCU produced an impressive 6-1 win against St. Georges.
The work rate throughout the entire game was brilliant in what proved to be one of their best games of the season so far. Even after St. Georges equalised, CCCU kept their heads and managed to dismantle their opponents.
Captain Tara Bossano-Anes said, “Player of the week was Jina Douaoui, she scored her first goal of the season and was an absolute star in defence!”.
Men’s Football 1’s
The men’s first team got their season back on track with a 3-1 win over Wembley university.
In their first time facing this opponent, CCCU stood up to the challenge. In what was a difficult encounter, CCCU showed their class and worked together well as a team to grind out the win.
Player of the week was awarded to Shaun after scoring a rare brace.
In just their third game together as a team, CCCU thrashed rivals UKC 4’s 46-29.
An incredible final quarter of the match, which saw them score 16 goals, rallied them to a victory.
Player of the match was awarded to Morven Goff who’s shooting was on fire all game.
Men’s Football 3’s
A dominant display from the CCCU third team saw them comfortably beat their rivals Kent.
The game ended 4-0 in favour of CCCU, who were simply too good for them on the day.
Captain Ben Goodayle said, “Player of the week was Sonny White. He scored 2 goals very early on and was quality from start to finish. It was not a good day to be their right back.”
CCCU came out on top with a quite remarkable 17-1 victory against Greenwich 1’s.
CCCU put in a dominant display from start to finish, in a game that they will remember for a long time.
Player of the week was awarded to Jeannie Alexandria, who was a rock at the back the entire game and even chipped in with a goal of her own.
Yet another win for CCCU as this team is proving to be an unstoppable force this season.
A 15-5 win against UKC 2’s was the latest result in their brilliant run.
Captain Lauren Goodlife said, ” Player of the week goes to Megan King. An unbelievable performance from a fresher who causes so many turnovers and is always in the right space”.
