Healing with sound and music has been practised by a variety of cultures for centuries.

Healing with sound and music has been practised by a variety of cultures for centuries, yet it is still used today. Ancient cultures believed that every single thing in the universe is vibrating at a particular frequency. For example, in Hinduism, the ‘OM’ sound is believed to be the sound of the whole universe.

Humans’ relationship with sound and music is rather intuitive and emotion-related. However, hearing particular sounds seems to connect people to something they find familiar, but also something greater than themselves.

The sounds produced during Sound Therapy aim to bring the client into their internal world, where an altered state of consciousness is induced.

Oliver Genn-Bash is a trainee sound therapist. Him and his client Egle Burksaite, took part in a Sound Therapy session on an enchanting beach in Ramsgate.
